So I fixed it and shall ramble about birds instead.

I got a budgie from petco back a couple days ago. I have named him Asimov. Mom also got some birds, but they're kind of like.. 4 hours away so I'll ramble about them at a later date when I have met them.

He seems to alternate between being the sweetest thing ever and trying to gnaw a hole in my knuckle/fingerjoints/vhatnot. It doesn't hurt really, mainly because I don't think the human hand has much feeling there to begin with, but he sure does give it a go. I'm not sure if this is because he is just young, tired, and throwing a tantrum, or because he's stubborn. I can tell already he's starting to develop some bad habits, but hopefully I'll train him out of them before he gets too set in his ways. Like last night he kept acting like he didn't want to go to bed when I thought he should (10ish), and was running around to the lightest parts of the cage where the towels I put over it didn't completely cover. He went to bed fairly quick today; maybe he learned his lesson.

I also think he just discovered his water dish (or the fact he could get there on his own) today so he went and drank enough water for the last few days to make up with it. Sigh. Assuming he seems fine tomorrow, I'll just count it as him being a n00b at life!11one

I'm working on training him to step up, of course, and also am teaching him to let me scratch his head, which is working fairly well right now because he's molting, and thus an itchy little featherhead. He's also already decided that my shoulder is the most friggin' awesome perch ever -- I just need to keep him from becoming territorial about it. Last thing I'd need is to not be able to get the bird off of me, heh. I took him out for a couple minutes tonight because it looked like he did want to come out (and I would like to encourage such things), he went to my shoulder, then proceeded to gnaw on me when I tried to get him off. Figures. Overall, nothing a little spray millet bribery can't solve.

School's going fine, I think. Got some projects I should redo to be zomgawesome, and I still need to post other stuff I've done. Nobody's complained I haven't posted, so I guess you'll all survive a little longer. Roommate is moving in this weekend, so that'll be cool. I'll actually have someone to abduct for being my model for projects! >.>

And holy frig, I've had DA for 6 years, go me. XD
